Fibromyalgia Back Pain

Treatments fibromyalgia and pain relief
Duloxetine is used to treat fibromyalgia and pain caused due to it. This medicine also works best for relieving pain and tingling caused by diabetic neuropathy. It works for other disorders such as treating depression and generalized anxiety disorder or GAD. This medication is in a class of selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors. It works by increasing the amounts of serotonin and norepinephrine, natural substances in the brain that help maintain mental balance and stop the movement of pain signals in the brain.
Fibromyalgia can occur at any age between 20 to 50 years old. However, fibromyalgia and pain onset can also occur in childhood. The cause of fibromyalgia is currently unknown. There is no test that fully reveals if someone has this disorder. The difficulty with diagnosing fibromyalgia is that, in most cases, laboratory testing appears normal and that many of the symptoms imitate those of other rheumatic conditions such as arthritis or osteoporosis. There is evidence that genetic factors may play a role in the development of this disease. For example, there is a high aggregation of fibromyalgia in families.
Fibromyalgia is a rheumatoid disorder characterized by muscle pain and headaches. Also called as fibrositis, fibromyalgia and fibromyositis, it is a medical disorder characterized by chronic widespread pain and allodynia, a heightened and painful response to pressure. Patients have a lower threshold for pain because of increased sensitivity in the brain to pain signals. Some people call this disorder as a non-disease. The defining symptoms of fibromyalgia are chronic, widespread pain, fatigue, and heightened pain in response to tactile pressure or allodynia. Other symptoms may include tingling of the skin, prolonged muscle spasms, weakness in the limbs, nerve pain, muscle twitching, palpitations, functional bowel disturbances, and chronic sleep disturbances.
The symptoms are not restricted to pain. Many patients experience cognitive dysfunction, also known as brain fog or fibrofog, which may be characterized by impaired concentration, problems with short and long-term memory, short-term memory consolidation, impaired speed of performance, inability to multi-task, cognitive overload, and diminished attention span. Fibromyalgia is often associated with anxiety, and depressive symptoms. Other symptoms include debilitating fatigue, sleep disturbance, and joint stiffness. Not all people with this disorder experience all associated symptoms
The treatment of this disorder is typically aimed at symptom management. Although there is as yet no cure for fibromyalgia, some treatments fibromyalgia have been demonstrated by controlled clinical trials to be effective in reducing symptoms, including medications, behavioral interventions, patient education, and exercise. Exercise has shown to improve fitness. Proper sleep reduces pain and fatigue in some people.

Fibromyalgia $24.45 Fibromyalgia is a form of chronic neuromuscular pain, a pain-amplification syndrome brought on by abnormal interactions between hormones, the immune system, neurotransmitters, and the autonomic nervous system, that afflicts six million Americans every year. Often misdiagnosed, and widely misunderstood, the majority of patients are turned away from doctors or treated for depression. This guide offers expert advice to sufferers of this painful syndrome and gives them the education they need to get the help they require but rarely get. In their earlier books, Making Sense of Fibromyalgia and All About Fibromyalgia, noted medical writer Janice Wallace and Dr. Daniel Wallace, a leading expert on this disorder, provided comprehensive guides–for both patients and professionals–to this little known and poorly understood syndrome. Now, in Fibromyalgia, the Wallaces provide an inviting and succinct version of the syndrome they have studied, laid out in clear and accessible language. The authors provide a clear, concise explanation of the syndrome and its symptoms, and also outline the recent advances in treatments. Fibromyalgia addresses a desperate need for concise, accessible information on this syndrome and offers reassurance to patients and their families. |

Lifting the Bull Back Pain, Fibromyalgia, and Environmental Illness by Dawber, Diane Edition ILL, 0 $11.49 Fibromyalgia, a chronically painful and disabling muscular syndrome, affects some five percent of our population. In one of Aesop’s fables, a farmer gives his son a calf and instructs him to lift the small animal every day. As the calf grows in size so does the boy’s strength until he is a young man able to lift the bull over his head. Diane Dawber builds her book on fibromyalgia — a chronically painful and disabling muscular syndrome — around this fable, telling how she was able to defeat her pain and regain her strength through a regimen of orthomolecular nutrition or nutrient supplements, bodywork exercise, and cleansing of her environment. The title also alludes to lifting the other kind of bull — the various medical myths, wrong diagnoses, and ineffective pharmaceutical and surgical treatments involved with chronic pain syndromes like fibromyalgia — that must also be lifted or dispelled if the five percent of our population who suffer from some degree of fibromyalgia are to recover. |
